Ithad options to 'tick' if I wanted to preserve battery life, so I did. Now my battery only charges to 60%, then it says plugged in, not charging. I want to change it back to being able to charge 100% but can't find where to do it. When I go to battery in settings, it has no option to change it back, only a slide for performance. Pluggedin 0% but no 'not charging'. It's almost like it can't recognize that it has a battery anymore. Won't run at all unless plugged in. Disabled/enabled battery driver multiple times, un installed and rebooted multiple times. looked for updates for drivers and windows, none available Generated battery report to see if anything was off Checkcables and reset your power supply unit: Disconnect the charger from your Surface, unplug the power cable from the power outlet in the wall, and then disconnect any USB accessories. Wait at least 10 seconds. This gives the charger time to reset. After that, clean the connector with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, and check for any damage.
Upgradedto Windows 10 on July 30th. No problems. My battery was showing up in conservation mode at 60% and not charging (I always use laptop plugged in). This was the setting in Windows 8.1 and still in Windows 10. All okay until last night. Now my battery is showing 100% charged and it's no longer in conservation mode.
